On Monday August 30, The Glendale Show 2010 will be taking place two miles south of  Wooler at the showfield. The show begins at 9am and features a variety of events occurring throughout the day.

This is the 118th Glendale Show and it is set to be a show to remember. At heart, this a country show where the livestock and equine classes and the Horticultural and Industrial Sections together attract hundreds of entries. People prepare their sheep and their shallots and their sweet peas. They prepare and polish their cattle and their courgettes, their ponies and potatoes.

This year there are number of firsts for Glendale Show including Zwartble sheep, a new entertainment marquee, and an area of the showfield dedicated to healthy living in Glendale!

Every year the main ring is very much at the heart of the show – it is where people picnic and party and where everyone can enjoy the main ring attractions. The City of Newcastle Pipe Band starts the afternoon’s programme. The Red Devils Parachute Display team, The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team and Horse Ball are the key highlights, with popular favourites The Equine fancy dress, and the parade of Foxhounds.

You can find more information from the official Glendale Show website, on the Visit Northumberland website, and on our Facebook events page! Be sure to share the event with your Facebook friends!
