This weekend (Sat 11 Aug) be sure to spectate (or even participate) at the Alnmouth Raft Race 2010! This is the 18th annual raft race taking place on the River Aln.
There are two fancy dress races this year, the first is the junior race and begins at 1.30pm, and the second is the senior race which begins an hour later at 2.30pm.
The senior race starts from the A1068 bridge into Alnmouth and ends where the river reaches the North Sea. Spectators are welcome to watch from the path along the waters edge. The junior race starts from the harbour.
This is a charity fundraising event, supporting the RNLI Amble lifeboats and the Great North Air Ambulance.
