Outdoors Northumberland, the county’s activity providers will be showcasing Northumberland’s wide array of outdoor activities this autumn during the first Outdoors Northumberland Festival.
Running from 25th September to 17th October, the festival will include a range of outdoor events provided by members of the Outdoors Northumberland network, allowing residents and visitors to get out into the great outdoors and perhaps try a new activity.
The festival will be officially launched on the 26th September with a mass participation cycle challenge, centred in Haltwhistle, called the H100. The challenge will take riders over 100 hills in and around Hadrian’s Wall country, but there’ll also be a family oriented cycle ride on the same day for people wanting something a little less strenuous.
‘Outdoors Northumberland’ is a network of businesses and public sector partners within the county of Northumberland which provide recreational outdoor events and activities to visitors. Activities include cycling, walking, wildlife, horse-riding, water sports, photography and bird watching. The organisation was established in 2007 to build stronger relationships between public agencies and private business with the aim of enhancing Northumberland’s tourism offer.
